Lead Poisoning Prevention for Healthcare Providers

This webinar covers the risks of lead poisoning in infants and young children. The many sources of lead exposure are reviewed along with lead testing and screening requirements.

Participants will be able to inform clients and patients on lead exposure prevention strategies and safe cleaning and renovation of lead-based paint in pre-1978 homes. The webinar will also include discussion of the assumptions and misconceptions regarding lead poisoning.

Speaker: Taylor Green, MVC Americorps VISTA

Taylor Green is an Americorps VISTA at Mississippi State University specializing in opioid misuse prevention, obesity, and healthy homes initiatives. She completed her BSc in biomedical engineering at Mississippi State before working in medical research at Washington University in St. Louis. She currently lives in Starkville, MS while completing her term of service and continuing her education.
